WHAT WE DO
As former educators, we understand how busy teachers and administrators are. This program has been designed with you in mind.
We promise to keep things simple.
Everything needed for this experience is provided by us, including lesson plans, promotional materials, and take-home activities. We offer a 30-minute event during which students ride their bikes and scooters to raise awareness and money to help build a well in Africa. This event is preceded by take-home activities designed to spark conversation with family and SEL lessons completed during school hours.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
As former educators, we understand the value of having parents and caregivers on campus. We focus a lot of strategic energy on getting parents to attend the event.
SEL LEARNING
We’ve worked with experienced educators to develop engaging curriculum that increases social and global awareness in students.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Wheelies is designed to engage students in advocacy and fundraising for the economically marginalized. We provide the materials, platform, and space needed for students to serve others.
BUILD WELLS
Clean water is the heart of our organization, and every dollar raised from our events goes directly to building wells in Africa.

Sorry if it felt like we went dark a few days but we’ve been in the twilight zone…
It will take a long time to explain how many delays & speed bumps have been on the road to make it here (in time we may try when we find it more humorous)
BUT today we finally arrived at our 1st stop in Malawi with our dear friend & partner, Joseph Zulu & the Good News network of great work happening in this region of villages.
**The new well we wanted to livestream on Saturday should begin the final installation process around 6am EST tomorrow (Monday)— including tapping it (which sounds like it produces a geyser) & hand pump installation, a village ceremony with the village chief & local people drinking clean water for the 1st time from this well.
Of course no promises on exact timing since plans & schedules in Africa many times are little more than an idea 🙂
Whatever time it happens, YOU helped make this well a reality so we want you to see it & join in the celebrations from wherever you are.
Regardless of your morning plans, definitely look out for a lot of great stuff starting tomorrow now that we have finally landed on the ground.

NEWS ALERT 🚨 Flight to Malawi has been canceled. We are currently stuck in Tanzania awaiting new tickets to Malawi. Our plans to stream the drilling are being postponed, but we will keep you updated on when we plan to do it. Fingers crossed 🤞 for a new flight!

We are off! Landed in Chicago, two hour layover, then to Ethiopia, THEN to Malawi. A lot of flight time ahead, but excited to see our friends in Mchacha!

Today is World Water Day, and more than ever, our friends in Malawi need our help. The extensive flooding and destruction from cyclone Freddy has left over 400,000 displaced and over 500 dead.
Our African partners have leaped into action, providing emergency food and water, putting together search and rescue operations, organizing housing for those who have been displaced, and beginning rebuilding efforts for those who lost their homes. We are calling on the entire Renown Collective family to join together to help provide relief and support during this trying time. All funds raised will go directly towards relief efforts provided by our partners at COPRED and Good News Children's Home in Malawi.

The intersection of clean water and women's empowerment is central to the heart of Renown. In many of the communities we serve, women carry the burden (both literally and physically) of providing water for their families. Consequently, young girls often miss large amounts of class time. Our African partners are working against this injustice by speaking up for gender equity, creating new social norms, AND creating easy and safe access to clean drinking water.

In 2022, we had the privilege of partnering with @bloodwatermission and @pact_ug in Uganda on a program that trained young girls AND young boys to create reusable menstruation pads.
Two for one!
Girls have the resources they need to continue their day as normal while on their period.
Menstruation is normalized and destigmatized, creating a safer and more equitable environment for girls.
